Sometimes I wonder… what did I do with all my free time before kids? Having the responsibility of looking after a small human x2 is far from easy, but it is the most rewarding feeling at the end of the day. When I look back at my single days (having only myself worry about) I don’t know why I didn’t accomplish more with my time. With two kids I find myself accomplishing more than ever, or so it seems!
There’s nothing quite like the experience of growing a human inside your belly, so it is wonderful to be able to capture these moments in time with pictures. I am not a huge fan of maternity pictures (of myself), I really try to avoid the camera for 9 months. But my mom persuade me into doing them – I am happy I did. However, when I look back at these pictures I remember how tired, sore, nauseous, big and “I don’t even care what I look like” felt like. A few of the wonderful things mother’s go through to receive the most beautiful creation of all, a baby!
Another weekend, come and gone. Friday night Brent and I spent the night relaxing at home with the kiddos. This usually means we are stuck watching tractors on youtube until a little 2 year old goes nighty night. On Saturday we celebrated two friends tying the knot, this was our last wedding of the year, hurrah! My parents babysat Jack while Max tagged along for majority of the wedding. By 9 pm Max was partied out, so he joined his brother at Gramma and Papa’s. Brent and I had so much fun with our friends – we laughed, we danced, we sang, and we ate (a whole lot)! We really took advantage of our night without our kid’s. Sometimes it’s a little tough to have time to spend together without your kids needing all your undivided attention, I’m sure many parents can relate.
Our sweet little Max is almost 5 months old, I cannot believe how quick time flies! That being said, I am excited to finally share his nursery.
Our house was built in 1997 and had one owner before we bought it. Everything inside was the original 1997 oak and brass finishes (very chic I know)! When we moved in, we decided to bring the house value up, so for the first month our house went through a few upgrading and updating renovations.
On December 1st 2011, Brent and I found out we were going to be parents. Usually this is something most couples are excited about, but for us we were young and completely terrified.
Back to 2009…. My husband, Brent and I met in my first year of college and his third year of college. Our college was not one of the biggest around, so it was not a surprise we noticed each other, also Brent being as tall as he is, he’s easy to spot from afar. Randomly seeing each other at college social events turned into a “Hey” at the gym and through the halls of school.
Welcome to my first blog post!
I have finally decided this is a great opportunity for me to start my own blog expressing my day to day life, and all that it is cracked up to be. This blog gives me the chance to recap on past and current projects, life events, and so much more that I have experienced thus far in my simple crazed life!
